We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Hatchery Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our hatchery operations, ensuring that our high standards for animal welfare and quality are met. Responsibilities:
As a Hatchery Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hatchery, including egg setting, hatching, and chick processing.
2. Ensure compliance with all animal welfare regulations and guidelines. This includes monitoring the health and wellbeing of the poultry, ensuring that they are housed, fed, and cared for properly.
3. Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols to improve hatchery efficiency and productivity.
4. Train, supervise, and manage hatchery staff, ensuring that they are following all safety and animal welfare guidelines.
5. Coordinate with other departments, such as production and quality control, to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of chicks.
6. Monitor and maintain hatchery equipment, ensuring that it is in good working order and scheduling repairs or replacements as necessary.
7. Keep detailed records of hatchery operations, including egg production, chick mortality rates, and any issues or problems that arise.
8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, innovations, and best practices, and implement these into our hatchery operations as appropriate.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Hatchery Manager position will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hatchery management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of poultry manufacturing and animal welfare best practices.
3. Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
5. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to staff, management, and other stakeholders.
6. Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken, is a must.
7. A degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, or a related field is preferred.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other computer software used in hatchery operations.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
10. A strong commitment to animal welfare and the ethical treatment of poultry.
