Harness Designer

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Salary Range: $80K–$90K

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex vehicle harness systems using CAD software.
• Create and manage 2D/3D harness drawings, including revision history and configuration management.
• Analyze and derive harness requirements to meet customer needs.
• Conduct trade studies and provide solutions for system integration challenges.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure project success.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues and provide design updates.
• Apply ASME and GD&T standards to ensure accuracy and consistency in designs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Product Design or equivalent experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in harness design, preferably in defense vehicle programs.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as PTC Creo, UG Nx, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
• Familiarity with U.S. DoD standards and processes.
