ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time position located at Altadena Hardware, in Altadena, CA. The role requires flexibility, including weekends and holidays, to ensure the store operates smoothly.
As the Hardware Store General Manager in Training, your day starts by assisting customers on the floor, offering expert advice on products like plumbing, gardening, and hardware. You work closely with the store team to ensure inventory is maintained, with products ordered and stocked in a timely manner. You oversee the smooth operation of store processes, from managing inventory levels to ensuring pricing and signage are accurate. Your leadership will be crucial in keeping the store running efficiently, from training new employees to resolving customer inquiries and complaints. By the end of the day, you have gained valuable experience in all aspects of store management while preparing to take on the full responsibility of managing the store.
The Minimum Requirements to Be Considered:
- Experience as an assistant manager or higher in a small retail hardware store
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, and stocking
- A passion for hardware and a desire to learn and grow in-store operations
