Hardware/Software Support Specialist - Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare

The Clinical Hardware Applications Specialist (CHAS) will work with Information Technology staff to install and configure hardware, support hardware and software, and train users on Casa Colina Financial and Clinical applications.  The focus will be to provide hardware support for new devices, facilitate hardware integration with applications software and work with IT staff to facilitate network access for use at Casa Colina.

Successful candidate must have the ability to promote and train employees on new advance technologies used in production. Most training sessions are on-site and in-person, though sometimes they are conducted online.

Must have experience in the medical field with patient software, imaging and scanning platforms or new medical devices.

Candidate must have experience educating and training healthcare professionals to use new software and equipment, like scanning, printing, inputting, and imaging equipment used in hospital settings or other healthcare facilities. Occasionally show families and patients how to use certain devices or computer equipment.

Perform product and device demonstrations or install new software and computer programs and train staff on how to use them, leading workshops and seminars for the equipment for use with the software. Have a background in the healthcare field, so some general knowledge of healthcare can assist in the design, development and ongoing use of automated healthcare systems.

The primary duties and responsibilities of a Hardware/Software Support Specialist working with vendors and healthcare facilities include:

• Evaluating and testing hardware vendors and systems


• Selecting the right hardware or device match for an organization and implementing it


• Delivering customer service and training throughout the implementation process


• Preparing all elements of the transition to new devices for use with the software


• Troubleshooting, maintaining and optimizing the hardware with the software


• Monitoring the transition process and reporting updates to senior managers
