Role: Hardware Engineer II
Primary Skills: Radio Frequency (RF) Technology/Engineering
Role Description: The Hardware Engineer II must have at least 4+ years of experience. As the Hardware Engineer, you will perform research, analysis, and design of printed circuit boards specifically designed for communications systems involving troposcatter, microwave, satellite, HF, and VHF radio.
You will generate schematics and board layouts while researching and selecting the proper components and working with vendors to fabricate solutions. As the Engineer, you must have a strong interest in communications and RF technology.
Must Have:
- Not just board design, must test the design – Unit PC board, troubleshooting.
- Preference is RF experience.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes requirements, develops technical specifications, and creates documentation for custom circuit boards.
- Develop and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Altium design software.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers to meet packaging requirements.
- Develop integration plans and procedures for board-level and system-level performance verification testing.
- Complete obsolescence and supply chain shortage research and part replacement selection.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and analysis, identifying potential board issues and driving circuit improvements.
Skills:
- Circuit design, modeling, and analysis
- Ability to troubleshoot designs at the PCB or component level
- Power electronics design
- Basic understanding of Radio Frequency theory
- Familiarity with lab test equipment – Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Signal Generators, Waveguide and Coaxial components, etc.
- Proficient in using Altium.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering with a concentration in Circuit Design required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years’ experience in PCB layout and schematic design.
- RF circuit design experience desired
- Power electronics circuit design experience
- EMC compatible design experience
- Knowledge of RF Test Equipment operation and circuit troubleshooting
- VHDL programming and troubleshooting desired Comtech
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience
Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses

Note: Must be able to work on a W2 basis (No C2C)
