Hardware Engineer / Firmware Engineer - Hybrid at Engineering Resource Group

Description

• Hybrid, contract position for a Hardware Engineer to manage projects creating and laying schematic designs.
• Design from sketch to fabrication to support satellite payload design project.
• Create schematic symbols and footprints for new parts.
• Create board level Power Supply Architecture.
• Responsible for FPGA development with Quartus or Vivado, Core Fmax > 250 MHz.
• Experience with DRAM and FPGAs and large pin count BGAs.
• Generate 3D models from the tools for mechanical placement verification.
• Responsible for firmware development.

Requirements

• Hybrid, but must be able to drive to company site for meetings, etc.
• BS Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience with hardware design and firmware development.
• Experience with FPGA development using Quartus or Vivado.
• Knowledge of RF trace routing and data buses, like Gigabit Ethernet.
• Experience with documenting key areas for customer design reviews.
• Knowledge of Verilog or VHDL (Preferred).
• Experience with Platform Designer and embedded Hard Processor System a plus.
• Knowledge of basic data protocols, I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet.
• Knowledge of ADCs/ DACs, DSP design a plus.
• Experience with Cadence Orcad Capture and PCB Designer / Allegro.
• Position is with a defense contractor so US citizenship is required.
