Hourly Range - $50 - $65
Responsible for the design, development and integration of complex military combat vehicle electronic (vetronics), electrical harnesses, power systems, and power distribution systems.
Essential Functions:
- Requirements analysis, derivation, decomposition and management activities
- Research and analyze solutions to meet customer requirements
- Perform trade studies to compare alternative approaches
- Create and maintain electrical power budgets and allocations
- Develop vehicle electrical (signal, network and video) and power distribution concepts and architectures
- Integration of military lethality, survivability and C5ISR systems
- Develop electrical requirement specifications, electrical drawings, schematics and ICDs
- Perform analytical analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance
- Support CPU, GPU, FPGA, power distribution and harness designs and integration
- Understand/create/review test requirements and plans
- Support/Monitor prototype development, Component procurement and prototype build/integration/test activities and analyze results
- Support system-integration-lab (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) activities
- Troubleshoot issues and perform corrective actions
- Support/Monitor Vehicle test and analyze results
- Interact with internal/external customers and suppliers
- Understand/create/Manage project schedules
- Maintain project open issues lists and Prepare/present project status
- Support multidiscipline concurrent engineering activities
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)
- Working Knowledge of
o Systems model based design and related Standards/Processes
o Digital, analog, low/high-voltage power, computing bus architecture and RF (radios, GPS, …)
o Mechatronics, electrical hardware, vetronics, electrical harnesses, rounting and distribution, and electrical vehicle engineering and integration principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US and overseas management, staff, teams, suppliers, and customers
o Must be able to communicate effectively and explain complex technical concepts and instructions in a variety of settings in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic
o Ability to engage with an enthusiasm to establish productive relationships, promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork to ensure all across the organization and its external service providers have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities
o Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required
o Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others
o Must display exceptional listening and analytical skills in order to understand customer concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs

- Must be adaptable and able to prioritize and work on own initiative and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with the US DoD ground vehicle requirements, US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and acquisition
- Familiarity with the US Army TACOM / TARDEC / GVSC organizations
- Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance
Education:
- BSc Engineering (e.g. Electrical, Computer Science, Systems, Aerospace, Automotive)
- MSc Engineering desired (e.g. Electrical, Computer Science, Software, Systems, Aerospace, Automotive, Management)
Experience:
- 5 years of vetronics (vehicle electronics) experience
- Experience in delivering large complex US Defense programs
- Applied working knowledge in the domain of electrical engineering design and systems integration, with a proven track record of product development throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Experience with standard bus protocols (CANBus, Ethernet, Serial communications)
- Experience with military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems
- Hands on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with proposals, bid capture, contract negotiations and delivery planning
- Practical 'hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently
- Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulations
- Experience of working in a multi-discipline, multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment
