Occupational Summary
The Guest Engagement Coordinator ensures an outstanding guest experience. This is achieved through preparation of materials, coaching of Museum Educators, Museum Apprentices and volunteers, and presence on the museum floor. This staff member takes turns leading floor teams as EOD, on rotation with other Museum Experience and Volunteers leaders.
Duties & Responsibilities
1.Value-added programming in the museum.
a. Point person for information about all value-added programs
b. Either Point Person or Support Person for all public events
c. Schedules 4-month, 2-month, 1 month, and debrief meetings for events
d. Ensures each day's value-added programs are communicated to guests and recorded on internal calendars (including booking spaces)
e. Facilitates Value Added programming as a backup
2.Walk Ups
a. Create calendar for changing walk-ups and training
b. Coordinate with Specialists, Volunteer Manager, and Museum Experience Manager to ensure facilitation assignments
c. Maintain equipment and supplies
d. Conduct training on walk-ups and best practices for Facilitation
e. Determine the success of walk-ups and collaborate with Specialists to revise as needed
f. Track and report number of guests engaged
g. May develop special programming related to Temporary exhibits
3.Serve as Point Person on Signature Public Events
a. Red, white, & Blue
b. New Years at Noon
c. CDM Birthday
d. May develop special programming related to Temporary exhibits
4.Coaches floor staff to optimize guest and volunteer experiences
a. Serve as EOD and MAP Point on rotation with other Museum Experience Managers
b. Provides on-the-spot training and feedback to staff and volunteers to ensure consistent excellence
c. Shared competencies and responsibilities with management team
d. See needs and addresses them, backup to all floor functions and Museum Experience Management Team duties

•Enthusiasm for guests of all ages and creativity to develop or help develop outstanding experiences for guests
Education/Experience Required
•At least 2 years' experience training people preferred.
•Experience in a museum required.
Working Conditions
Museum floor, based on needs of museum programming and training support needed by Museum staff and volunteers.
4 Weekend days per month. May vary.

Moving materials into place for programs
Moving tables, chairs
Standing/walking for extended periods
Supervises
•The museum floor, including supporting Museum Educators in the absence of Museum Experience Manager and Director of Museum Experience
•Supports supervision of teen and adult volunteers in the absence of Volunteers Manager and Director of Museum Experience
•Ensure high-quality facilitation of all value-added programs and events
