Job Summary
The GTS Account Specialist is the primary point of contact for Natural Gas suppliers participating in the gas transportation and distribution programs. Effectively maintain all day-to-day functions and activities essential to the success of the gas transportation programs for Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Interacts internally with Accounting, Billing Exceptions, Compliance, Customer Service, Major Account Managers, Regulatory and other functional areas to accomplish tasks related to the programs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the NiSource vision as it relates to gas transportation throughout all jurisdictions
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external audiences and continues to proactively look for ways to enhance the customer experience
- Supports internal/external parties as necessary including rate case support and responses to interrogatories
- Ensures the winter operations plan/training is updated and communicated annually in preparation for emergency response
- Actively participates in rate case strategy meetings, providing information and tariff revision recommendations as necessary
- Participates in regulatory collaborative efforts within each jurisdiction
- Prepares accurately and timely process contracts/agreements, files, reports, data requests, billing data, etc., as it relates to the programs and work with legal and state regulatory to ensure the documentation is in accordance with the applicable Tariff provisions
- Evaluates design changes related to compliance with state and federal regulations and regulatory initiatives (defining program changes, testing and implementation) as necessary
- Reviews and takes necessary action to ensure Customer and Supplier billing is completed timely and accurately and is in accordance with applicable Tariff provisions
- Identifies, recommends and assists in the implementation of process improvements
- Participates in cross-training within department to ensure knowledgeable staff
- Possesses and maintains appropriate gas transportation, tariff and industry knowledge through training and work experience
- Participates in any and all teams/projects and meetings related to programs and job duties
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- Investigates all internal and external stakeholder inquiries in a timely and accurate fashion
- Adjusts effectively to frequently changing work assignments
- Delivers results that meet or exceed business plans/operational goals
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications for Position
- Requires Bachelor’s Degree or comparable industry-related work experience
- Gas Transportation, Gas Supply or related experience and knowledge
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Proven ability to work across departments collaboratively
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and stress in a fast-paced business environment
- Must possess effective teaming and listening skills
- Good conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate and timely work
- Proven track record of achieving results
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Experience working with customers and/or suppliers directly
- Proven ability to work independently
- Demonstrated success in listening to problems, finding creative business solutions and effectively communicating and/or implementing solutions
- Mainframe knowledge and experience with the systems that are used to support the gas transportation functions
- PC software proficiency (i.e., Excel and Word)
- LDC Tariff and rate knowledge
- Occasional travel may be required
- Time may be required outside of traditional business hours
- High accountability for job performance and accurate and timely work

Salary Range:
$65,900.00 - $99,000.00Posting Start Date:
