Responsibilities:Lead the delivery of mental health prevention and education through facilitated small groups to target youth population as required by program and/or as directed by Supervisor. Work with other program staff, VCC staff and community partners.
- Facilitate groups to provide information, education, to target population, adhering to program guidelines.
- Support participants of program in building resiliency through self-esteem, self-efficacy, and problem solving.
- Encourage participants to engage in program activities and curriculum to maintain program retention and efficacy.
- Provide direct referrals and share resources with program participants.
Minimum Qualificaitions
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, Psychology, Child Development, or related field
- 3 years experience in the behavioral/mental health field
- Valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance; reliable transportation, to travel for meetings and/or to gather information for reporting purposes
- Availability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours, as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in either Social Work, Counseling, Human Development, Psychology, Child Development, or related field
- 1 year experience in the behavioral/mental health field
- Bilingual English/Spanish

- Ability to present information accurately and effective both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
- Ability to create a comfortable, supportive learning environment for participants
- Excelent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients and other staff
Pay Range: $25 - $27.50
