About The Role:
We are looking for a Group Home Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our group home for children, while ensuring the safety of the residents and staff in a professional manor. You will be interacting with residents and staff while trying to make connections with everyone involved with your facility.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Participate in meetings and trainings as required
- Ensure that Group Home Supervisors effectively supervise their assigned Youth Advocates.
- Ensure program routines and activities are implemented consistently and as scheduled, in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Conduct staff training, orientation, and staff performance evaluations as needed or assigned. Specific trainings assigned will include Safe Crisis Management, group facilitation, on-the-job training, and the new hire development plan.
- Meet on a consistent basis with Program Supervisor to discuss group home operations.
- Oversee and delegate use of program funds to direct care staff, ensuring receipts are properly submitted.
- Complete the Monthly Inspection Checklist for the Ashler Dorm program.
- Coordinate transportation in regards to Dorm residents' appointment schedules.
- Associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of work experience with children
- OR a bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience with children
- Must be at least 21 years of age per Department of Human Services regulations
- Successful candidate will be required to successfully complete the Safe Crisis Management curriculum
- State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances are required for this position and will be paid for by the agency
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in social work-related field plus at least two (2) years of experience working with children/youth.
- Supervisory/team leading experience.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner and maintain the standard of care that is appropriate for this position. Must be able to physically respond to residents who are engaging in unsafe behavior.
