Position Overview: Our company seeks an experienced Employee Benefits professional who is experienced working with multi-lines clients to join us as a Group Benefits Account Manager. In this position you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of group benefits for tier one clients at Alliance Insurance Group. You will be expected to understand benefit plans, market trends, and manage carrier relationships to ensure client satisfaction and competitiveness in the market.
Work Arrangement: This is a full-time position working in our office located in Montgomery, Alabama.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administration of client benefit plans and manage the renewal process to ensure plans remain current, competitive, and in compliance with industry standards
- Deliver clear and concise benefit information to employees within client organizations
- Provide ongoing customer service by addressing and resolving benefit-related inquiries
- Resolve benefit or claim issues in collaboration with appropriate carrier contacts
- Develop and sustain strong carrier relationships on behalf of clients
- Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to the benefit staff, ensuring the team is well-equipped to handle client needs
- Oversee the implementation process following a sale, including but not limited to, overseeing enrollment, preparation of group paperwork, benefit overviews, and employee data into census templates
- Manage the enrollment of new hires for clients through the appropriate BenAdmin platform
- Request renewals and negotiate rate adjustments to ensure favorable terms for clients
- Ensure all client contracts are compliant within insurance regulations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in a business-related field
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in the Employee Benefits Insurance Industry, including experience in an account management position
- An active Alabama Life and Health Insurance license
- Experience working with employee benefits agency management systems (BenAdmin preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
- A passion for being part of a team that drives our company to industry leadership
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both peers and clients
- Ability to travel to client locations as needed
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future
