MalaceHR is seeking a dedicated Grounds Supervisor to lead a team in the Grounds Management department. This hands-on role involves overseeing horticultural and landscaping operations, ensuring quality standards, and providing guidance to team members. The ideal candidate will have practical horticultural knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and train staff on operational procedures and horticultural best practices, ensuring adherence to company policies and quality standards.
- Perform hands-on leadership in the field, conducting quality assurance checks and monitoring performance.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for horticultural tasks.
- Ensure staffing levels align with operational goals and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors and Grounds Manager for smooth project execution.
- Provide weekly reports to the Grounds Manager and VP of Grounds Management.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, performance reviews, and employee coaching.
- Maintain client satisfaction to ensure account retention and assist with customized service programs.
- Stay current with industry certifications, licenses, and safety compliance.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including pesticide records and MSDS.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs on landscaping tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Formal education or advanced certifications in ornamental horticulture and 5+ years of experience in landscape management with a focus on horticulture.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of horticulture, including trees, shrubs, and other plant species.
- Experience with landscape tools and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to multitask and work in various weather conditions.
- Commercial Pesticide License in Turf & Ornamentals.
- Experience with grounds-related equipment and vehicles, including tractors and mowers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in horticulture, landscape management, or related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Grounds Technician, Certified Arborist, or Pesticide License.
