Groundman/Dredge Operator - The Concrete Company (Foley Products)

The Groundman/Dredge Operator will operate the plant, dredge and pit pumps to ensure the plant runs efficiently. This position will operate heavy equipment as needed to aid in production, stockpiling, shipping and maintenance.

What you will do:

• Safely and efficiently operate the plant, any work boats, dredges and pit equipment (includes pit pumps, boosters, and generators.)
• Safely and effectively operate all heavy equipment as assigned.
• Conduct inspections as required by MSHA, before work begins in an area and before use of equipment.
• Ensure the dredge and all pit equipment are properly maintained at all times.
• Maintain effective, timely communication with the QC Tech
• Understand and maintain quality control of sand product
• Perform necessary steps to maximize pit recovery
• Perform general housekeeping of plant and equipment
• Adhere to all policies, safety rules, guidelines and codes, understand and comply with MSHA regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

What you Need:

• Experience with operating procedures of multiple types of heavy equipment preferred (haul truck, grader, dozer, loader, etc.)
• Understanding/experience with maintenance and basic repairs associated with heavy equipment.
• Understanding and ability to follow safety rules and safely operate machinery
• Experience working with dredges highly preferred
• Must be able to apply and retain information provided in team meetings.
• Must be able to understand directions/instructions on methods/process to do work with little supervision
• Must be able to maintain high level of awareness for a busy project work environment
• Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water.
• Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the position (i.e. flotation device, hard hat, etc.)
• Lift 50+ pounds
