Job Title: Receiving Clerk
Department: Swinomish Convenience Enterprises
Reports to: Assistant Store Manager
Direct Reports: Floater, Retail and Liquor Clerks
Summary:
The receiving clerk is responsible for the receipt, verification and recording of product that is delivered to the company, as well as ensuring the floor and liquor retails areas are stocked and cleaned. The Retail clerk is responsible for handling all vendor related issues, pricing and/or billing discrepancies, as well as ensuring the best pricing possible is received.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Receiving Clerk:
- Receive, check in and sign for delivered goods.
- Verify accuracy of delivery and compare to product invoice.
- Input product invoice to computer system for inventory tracking
- Inputs all new merchandise into SSCS system for sale and inventory purposes.
- Adjust delivery product pricing to ensure accuracy and maximize company profit.
- Reviews product department margins to ensure they are kept at right percentage.
- Work with company representatives to ensure order accuracy.
- Contact company representatives to request product credit or replacement for damaged goods.
- Have a proficient knowledge of point of sale operations.
- Have skilled use of electronic equipment used for invoice processing.
- Have pertinent familiarity with SSCS system.
Available during entire inventory process and works closely with the Inventory Control Team to assist with any enquires or questions that may arise.
Other duties, as assigned.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Receiving Clerk:
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have excellent cash handling and customer service skills.
Other Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to proficiently and safely operate propane fuel dispenser.
Requirements:
- Assist handicap customers with fueling needs.
- Give customers directions if asked.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a Washington State Food Handler's Permit.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
- Able to read, write, and perform simple math problems.
- Able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions and solve problems.
- Must pass criminal background check and urinalysis drug screen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Retail clerk:
- Order, receive and check in delivered goods.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries and compare to product invoice.
- File delivery invoices for proper recording and billing.
- Manage the storage, preparation and distribution of backstock products.
- Stock, organize and clean the retail store area.
- Complete additional duties, as assigned.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to proficiently and safely operate propane fuel dispenser.
- Assist handicap customers with their fueling needs.
- Give customers directions, if asked.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a Washington State Food Handler's Permit.
