Position Summary
Sets up and operates external grinding machinery to perform external grinding on magnet blanks according to specifications, tooling instructions, standard charts and knowledge of grinding procedures. Reads blueprint, job order, tooling instructions, and manufacturing router.
Essential Functions:
• Produce parts according to drawing specifications, minimizing cycle time while maintaining quality standards.
• Set up and operate machinery and equipment efficiently, ensuring proper function throughout the production process.
• Inspect each part to verify compliance with dimensional, tolerance, and surface finish requirements.
• Monitor operations and adjust equipment settings to optimize performance and adhere to best practices.
• Leverage machining expertise to select appropriate fixtures, tooling, and wheel configurations, ensuring safe and efficient equipment setup.
• Operate electronically controlled I.D. grinders to achieve precise magnet grinding according to blueprint specifications.
• Program machine controls to set proper rotation speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and machining sequences.
• Use measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and fixed gauges, to verify conformance to specifications.
• Consistently produce parts that meet specifications while achieving performance targets.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as per daily and weekly schedules to ensure optimal functionality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year prior grinding experience.
- Must be a US citizen or a US permanent resident.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally
