Summary
An NCTC Graphic Designer primarily creates design graphics and marketing material for different medias and print. This position works with the marketing team to produce and distribute marketing material for events and programs and follows design guidelines that best reflect North Central Texas College.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create graphics and design layouts for print ads, flyers, magazines, emails, web page, logos and social media accounts, for use across multiple platforms
Utilize Canva to design templates and graphics for departmental use
Follow NCTC marketing guidelines to select fonts, colors, photography, layouts and other designs
Collaborate with marketing team to create media and marketing material
Translate employees needs and branding strategies into design elements
Take marketing photos, as needed, to use in graphics and on the NCTC website
Manage graphics projects, communicating on Marketings behalf with other departments to help those departments reach their marketing goals
Manage campus monitors
Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the need of the department and the institution.
Required Education:
Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or related field.
Required Experience:
At least three (3) years of experience in the creation of custom graphics and publication and web design, including such materials as brochures, programs, invitations, flyers, print ads, banners, signs, camera-ready ad copy, custom logos web page design, social media images, KPTIA/V project support, and other graphic illustrations. A Portfolio with design examples must be provided.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Communication Skills both verbal and written
Proficient in Adobe software such as Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
Time Management skills
Organization Skills
Knowledge of print production process and preparing files for print
