Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and recommend funding opportunities to senior management, ensuring alignment with mission, programs and services and organizational goals.
- Manage the grant application process, including writing proposals for programs including Behavioral Health, Medical, HIV Prevention, Harm Reduction, and Housing; preparing budgets, and submitting materials on time.
- Understand and clearly communicate the organization’s mission and programs in each grant application, effectively writes grant proposals and narratives in a persuasive, clear and concise manner that is appropriate for each unique application requirement
- Develop simple grant budgets when indicated and ensures funds are being expended in a timely manner in coordination with the CFO
- Ensure technical aspects of grant submissions are adhered to in order to ensure a smooth application and submission process and track due dates for grant renewals and grant submissions
- Collaborate with staff to gather data, track deadlines, and ensure proper implementation and reporting for awarded grants.
- Cultivate relationships with donors and funding partners, engaging in outreach to retain current donors and attract new ones.
- Lead or support fundraising initiatives, including events, sponsorship solicitation, and donor data management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in Federal and State grant writing and management.
- Proficiency in grant portals, computer software, and donor management tools.
- Strong skills in donor cultivation and fundraising event management.
- Demonstrated excellence in time sensitive processes and deliverables
- Effective judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
