Grant Accountant – Interview Happening This Week
Location: Lawrenceville, New Jersey
Salary: $35 to 40 hourly
Job Type: This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 months.
Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the general ledger and grants management module for restricted funds to ensure correct balances and activity within funds.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare or approve entries in the general ledger.
+ Provide timely and accurate regulatory reporting, miscellaneous schedules, and other filings throughout the fiscal year.
+ Collaborate with team members to recommend improvements to departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls, and ensure proper documentation.
+ Provide Financial Aid with data for FAFSA, compile data for NACUBO endowment survey, and compile SEFA/SESA for annual audits on all grants.
+ Reconcile FWS for government funding of the program and manage all grants, student loans, federal programs, and drawdown funds through the federal G5 online system.
+ Collaborate with Financial Aid on annual FISAP reporting.
+ Assist in creating new grants in the general ledger.
+ Attend meetings to support principal investigators in grant proposals, awards, and required reporting in compliance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
+ Ensure grants further the company’s purpose, including time and effort reports, payroll allocation reviews, expense reviews, and processing refunds as needed.
+ Perform detailed analysis of grant transactions to ensure funds are being drawn or invoiced correctly.
+ Prepare cost analysis of company expenses for indirect cost allocation for grants and lead audits of these costs.
+ Assist with new fund code requests for new endowments, grants, and annuities.
+ Create new reporting functionality to enhance timely reports for all interested parties.
+ Participate in system testing.
+ Review and approve all expenses related to restricted funds and update the budget for restricted funds accordingly.
+ Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
Key Qualifications:
+ Proven experience in grant accounting.
+ Strong knowledge of regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines.
+ Experience with G5, Research.Gov, SAM.Gov, FSD.Gov, and other State and Federal reporting portals.
+ Proficiency in Excel and Word.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
+ Ability to work well independently and multitask.
+ Dedication to meeting deadlines.
+ Commitment to team efforts and coalition building.
+ Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
+ Resourceful and inquisitive nature.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
