Grant Writer - Contract 1099 Position - SRVS

Duties: Under the supervision of the Director of Public Relations and Development, the Grant Writer identifies, researches and pursues public, private and corporate grant funding for projects, programs, campaigns and services of SRVS; develops new proposals and reapplications for competitive and non-competing grants on the local, state and federal levels; assists the Director of Development in making recommendations regarding grant opportunities; assists staff members in identifying sources and designing grant projects; prepares project budgets with the Business Office; coordinates the grant preparation process with internal teams and offices and with external partners; provides copies and information to key personnel; helps orient new program managers to the requirements of funded projects; communicates information on grant opportunities, funded projects and the grants approval process to the SRVS community.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. Three years experience developing and writing proposals for funding is preferred.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required. Word processing and electronic spreadsheet skills are required. Demonstrated knowledge and application of standard budgeting procedures is required. The ability to make sound decisions by applying policies and procedures and using available resources is required.

The ability to work independently and with limited supervision is required. The ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines is required. The ability to follow detailed instructions is required. This is a contract 1099 position.
