The Grant Development Officer’s mission will be to unlock this area of funding for EWB-USA to take our impact to the next level. The Grant Development Officer is responsible for identifying, securing, and managing grant funding opportunities to support EWB-USA’s mission and programs. This role involves preparing compelling grant proposals and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The Grant Development Officer will work closely with program staff, finance, and other departments to align grant activities with organizational goals and objectives. We believe there is at least $1m in annual grant funding to be unlocked in the next 3 years. Succeeding in this mission is a great way to build your fundraising career and join a winning team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantmakers and institutional funders. Represent EWB-USA and its programming at meetings, conferences, and other events to enhance the organization’s visibility and funding prospects.
Identify Funding Opportunities: Vet research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
Develop and Write Grant Proposals: Prepare high-quality, compelling grant proposals and applications that align with EWB-USA’s mission, programs, and strategic priorities. Tailor proposals to meet the specific guidelines and requirements of each funding source. Support our partners' needs by coaching them through the grant proposal process.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with program staff, finance, and other departments to gather necessary information, develop grant budgets, and ensure all grant deliverables are tracked and reported back to the funder.
Work closely with the finance team to prepare detailed financial reports for grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.
Grant Management and Reporting: Oversee the management of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements and timely submission of reports. Maintain accurate records of grant activities and outcomes and collaborate with the finance team on grant expenditure tracking. Assist in the development and monitoring of grant budgets, ensuring proper allocation and use of funds.
Grant Calendar Management: Maintain a detailed grant calendar to track application deadlines, reporting requirements, and other key milestones. Ensure timely submission of all grant-related documents.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing or management, including Federal, State, and Private/Foundational grants, fundraising, or a related field.
Proven track record of securing significant grant funding. Experience in Domestic and International Development.

Location
This position is hybrid if located in Denver, Colorado or fully remote if located in CA, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KA, MA, MN, MI, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, UT, WA, WI. Occasional travel to Denver will be required as necessary. It is a full-time position with typical business hours, but flexibility may be required to meet deadlines or attend events.
Compensation Benefits
Hiring Range: $66,000 - $74,000
