Responsibilities:
As a Junior Accountant, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Managing accounts receivable and ensuring that all payments are made in a timely manner.
2. Handling the billing process, including the generation of invoices and credit notes.
3. Overseeing deposit and cash management activities, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
4. Assisting in job cost calculations, providing valuable input in project costing, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
5. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, as well as any other reports required by management.
6. Assisting with the preparation of year-end audit files and liaising with external auditors as necessary.
7. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in financial management.
8. Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Junior Accountant position will have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in accounts receivable, billing, deposit, job cost, and cash management.
4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial staff.
6. Proficiency in the use of accounting software and other relevant computer applications.
7. A keen attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in all work.
8. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to take initiative and work independently when required.
