Position Overview:
We are seeking a Grant Accountant to manage the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and regulations. This role involves tracking grant revenue and expenses, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate records. The Grant Accountant will support budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, ensuring funds are used efficiently and appropriately. This role requires three days a week on-site at the client's Indianapolis office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Financial Management: Track and reconcile grant expenses, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and funder guidelines.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial reports, ensure compliance with regulations and assist with audits.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with grant budgets, variance analysis, and forecasting of future expenditures.
- Billing & Invoicing: Prepare and submit timely invoices for grant reimbursements, ensuring accuracy.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of grant transactions and documentation.
- Collaboration: Work with program staff to ensure proper fund usage and provide financial insights.
- Training & Support: Support staff in grant financial management and assist with grant proposals and budgets.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or other certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in accounting with grant management experience, ideally in nonprofit or government sectors.
- Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Excel. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with grant regulations and financial reporting standards.
