Objectives of this Role:
- Develop code to model light propagation thru planetary atmospheres and enable atmospheric retrieval thru occultation observations.
- Internship for local student for Spring 2024 semester
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Research similar techniques in use in reflection seismology.
- Write and test code that applies these techniques for light propagation thru planetary atmospheres.
- Submit a paper to the appropriate journal describing and demonstrating these techniques.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a PhD in Planetary Science
- 1 year: Academic experience with python and numpy and scipy packages.
- Academic experience with Astronomical data reduction.
- Academic experience with observing occultations.
- Classes with a background in linear algebra.
