Paygrade: $20.29 - 32.46
The GME Program Assistant:
- Works in collaboration with the Program Director(s) and GME Program Administrators to coordinate administration of residency and fellowship educational programs for the department. The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Assistant is a member of the leadership team of the program, is responsible for coordination and administration of the accredited/non-accredited residency/fellowship training program and is critical to the success of the program.
- Coordinates annual evaluations of staff members. Compiles evaluation data by the semiannual review date. Schedules semiannual review meetings with each fellow and the program director.
- Manages resident/fellow financial allowance account purchases (e.g., textbooks, computers), per the Sponsoring Institution’s guidelines.
- Reviews Program Letters of Agreement for any changes, expirations, etc.
- Oversees the administration and scheduling of physician residents in a medical environment.
- Processes residency verification requests.
- Ensures completion of ACGME Resident/Fellow and Faculty Surveys.
- Ensures that the activities of the physician residents meet the needs for training and accreditation.
- Prepares Medicare Audit documents, per the GME Office’s instructions.
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- High School Diploma or GED required. An additional one (1) to two (2) years of advanced education in secretarial science is preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience with proven communication and organizational skills. Former experience in a teaching hospital is preferred.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office. New Innovations (technology platform) experience highly desired.
