Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a highly motivated **Graduate Civil/Geotechnical Engineer** to support geotechnical, civil infrastructure, and mine tailings projects as part of the Mining group in **Denver, Colorado** or **Murray, Utah** .  The position will involve working on mine tailings dam and water dam projects to conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses. _This position is expected to begin in January or May 2024._ The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs. + Assisting with laboratory testing assignments. + Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses. + Preparing calculation packages. + Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications. + Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to the internal team. + Review geotechnical instrumentation and assist with the preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology. + Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available. The selected candidate will undergo a Motor Vehicle Records review. **Preferred Qualifications:** + EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months. + Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis. + Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher, AutoCAD, and Civil3D. + Field, construction, and/or dams experience. + Familiarity with design reports, drawings, and specifications. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills. + Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment. + Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and flexibility. + Resourceful, highly organized, and detail-oriented. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. + Effective time-management and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. + We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States. + Travel of 15% is required for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
