About the Job
General Purpose:
Oversee the manufacturing of metal parts according with work instructions and best practices by performing the following duties:
Shift(s):
- 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Perform adjustments related with machine settings, tools and times. Analyses part measurements to determine adjustments needed.
- Read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts. Reviews measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections. Is able to fixture and measure parts manually with use of precision measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, sine plates, etc.)
- Perform re-works on and off machine.
- Understands G & M code functions. Is able to write and correct programming language without the use of CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to troubleshoot unproven programs and give precise feedback about problems discovered and corrected.
- Must adjust speeds and feeds for milling and turning operations.
- Collects data related to machining/turning process. Is able to summarize and communicate current status and proposes corrections and further test plans.
- Is able to review cutting tool geometry/conditions/measurements and recommends changes or improvements.
- Sets up tools using advanced measurements/set up equipment. Is able to troubleshoot problems and transfer knowledge related to tooling effectively to GR CNC Technicians and other team members.
- Ensure that the documentation is correct including quantities and other records including previous operations.
- Promptly performs booking operations and ensures reported quantities are correct.
- Use of hand tools such as files and hand reamers to de-bur and rework parts while maintaining product conformity.
- Perform visual inspections to identify issues as early in the production process as possible.
- Trains operators, machine adjusters and CNC technicians on job duties as well as visual inspection details.
- Helps with workflow by identifying bottlenecks and promptly communicating status with MFG Leadership.
- Maintain a high level of safety and cleanliness in the manufacturing area.
- Communicate with SV and/or CNC technicians potential issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including equipment and product issues.
- Communicate with other CNC technicians and operators at shift change relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite production process.
- Flexible work schedule.
- Promotes and maintains a high level of order and cleanliness using lean manufacturing principles (Kan-Ban, 5S, SMED, etc.)
- Must be present in regular attendance.

Employee is required to bend and squat to lift or move boxes (up to 40 lbs.). The employee is required to use fingers and hands to work on products. Personal Protective Equipment is required for safety. Employee must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to an indoor climate controlled and team environment with strong training and support structure. All machines have machine guarding as well as strict safety practices.
