SALARY NEGOTIABLE BASED UPON EXPERIENCE
TheChiefInformationOfficer,underthedirectionoftheSault Tribe Executive Technology Steering Committee,isresponsibleforproviding leadership, designing and leading the organization’s information technologystrategy, andsupportingthe business operations. The CIO will be responsible for aligning technologyinitiatives with business goals, driving innovation, and ensuring the effective and secure use of information technology across the organization.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS:(includes,butisnotlimitedto,the following):
· Developandimplementtheorganization’soverallITstrategyinalignmentwiththebusiness objective of Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
· Collaborate with executive leadership to identifyopportunities for technological advancement to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and achieve business goals.
· Providestrategicguidanceonemergingandsunsettingtechnologiesandtheirpotentialimpactonthe business.
· Clearlycommunicatealltechnologyinitiativerisks,timelines,requirementsandcost/benefit analysis.
· EnsuresthatITandnetworkinfrastructureadequately supportthecompany’scomputing,data processing, and communications needs.
· ProvideleadershipandsupporttoallITdepartmentsincludingbutnotlimitedtostaffingrecommendations, communicating goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.
· Continuallyassesscurrenttechnologyresourcesandtechnologywithintheorganizationandensure they are efficient, purposed, and performing in accordance with regulations and policies.
· Develop protocols and preparedness against cybersecuritythreats and lead efforts to enhance the organization’s security posture.
· Establisheslong-termITneeds,plansanddevelopsstrategiesfordevelopingsystemsandacquiring software/hardware necessary to meet business needs.
· DevelopsandimplementstheIT budget.
· Provideguidanceforend-usersindeterminingITrequirementsand/or solutions.
· Drivetheuseofdataanalyticstoinformdecision-makingandidentifybusiness opportunities.
· Encourageapositive,collaborative,andstrategicworkingrelationshipbetweentechnologyteams and all Sault Tribe departments.
ADDITIONALRESPONSIBILITIES: (includes,butisnotlimitedto,the following):
· Preparesanddeliverspresentationstothe Executive Technology Steering Committee and the BoardofDirectorsincludingITupdates,technologyneeds, and financial projections.
· Formulates,directsandcoordinatesactivitiestopromoteorganizationandservicesandtodevelop community and vendor relationships.
· Allotherjob-relateddutiesasassigned.

PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:
Positionprimarilyliftsto20poundswithfrequentlifting/carryingof10pounds.Physicalfactorsinclude constantuseofhearing,frequentlyremaininginstationaryposition,useofnear/midrange/farvision,depth perception and color and field of vision, frequent typing; and occasionallylifting, carrying, pushing and pullingofitemsweighingupto 25poundsclimbing,stooping,kneeling,crawling,reachingandbending. Workingconditionsincludeoccasionalexposuretoweather,extremeheatandcold, wet/humidity,noise, vibrationandairquality.Workingconditionsincludecontactwiththepublicandassuchcouldbe exposedtoinfectiousagents,etc.Potentialhazardsincludeconstantcomputeruseandoccasionalexposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, high, exposed places and equipment. Protective equipment/clothing needed to perform the job include hazards kit with protective gloves, mask, etc. and personal protective equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field required.
Experience:Minimumof10yearsofexperienceoverseeing organizational technology strategy, informationtechnologysystems,hardwareand softwareplatforms, orenterprisesoftwareapplications required.
Certification/License:WillberequiredtohaveaCriminalbackgroundinvestigationdoneundertherules oftheNationalIndianGamingCommission.Musthaveavaliddriver’slicenseandbeinsurablebytheSault Tribe InsuranceDepartment. Must complywith annual driver’s licensereviewand insurabilitystandards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have strong business and technology background with a broad understandingofoperationsincludingfinance,accounting,marketing,humanresources,purchasing,and general operations. Ability to analyze problems, project consequences, identify solutions, and implement recommendations. Knowledge of organization data and telecommunication hardware and softwarepreferred.Musthaveexcellentorganizationalskillsandbeabletoplan,prioritizeandmanageworkload to meet goals in a timely manner. Strong motivational and negotiating skills required. Must have excellentcommunicationskillsandbeabletocommunicateeffectivelybothorallyandinwriting.Mustbe able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers, subordinatesandthegeneralpublic.Musthaveexcellentpublicrelation/customerserviceskillsandbeable to exhibit friendly and positive attitude and establish and maintain effective communication with co- workers,supervisors andguests.Musthaveabroadrangeofknowledgeinsystems, telecommunications, softwareandavarietyofbusinessprocessandsystems. Mustbeabletohandledifficultsituationsandbe able to resolve customer complaints. Position required being on-call at all times. Must be able to work independentlywithnodirectsupervision.Mustbeabletoworkinahighstressenvironment.Mustmaintain privacy and confidentiality. Native American preferred.
