We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Permanent Assistant Finance Director. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dedicated team serving in the Government industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity. This role will also involve developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, preparing the annual budget, and managing cash flow and investments.
Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
1. Assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards.
2. Preparing and managing the annual budget, including forecasting and analysis.
3. Overseeing monthly financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, and timeliness.
4. Managing cash flow and cash investments, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
5. Coordinating with other departments for financial planning and budgeting.
6. Providing strategic financial advice and guidance to the Finance Director and other key stakeholders.
7. Conducting financial analysis and preparing detailed financial reports and statements.
8. Ensuring adherence to financial procedures and policies, and recommending improvements where necessary.
9. Providing leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Finance Director position should have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the government sector.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in government accounting, local or county.
4. Proven experience in preparing annual budgets and monthly financial reports.
5. Demonstrated experience managing cash flow and cash investments.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
7. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
