JOB SUMMARY
At Houston Methodist, the Governance Legal Assistant position supports the operation of the Board of Directors and its subsidiary Boards and Committees. This position utilizes sufficient knowledge of legal, nonprofit governance, and parliamentary procedures to perform required duties. Performs corporate filings and substantive legal duties under the direction of department management. Drafts memoranda and correspondence. Records minutes from meetings. Interacts regularly with executive and/or Board of Governance members. This position utilizes project and organizational skills, analytical and specialized technical skills to support to department operations. The Governance Legal Assistant position may handle multiple projects at one time with extreme attention to detail. This position works independently and proactively and utilizes project management and organizational skills.
