Position Summary:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for managing and overseeing all on-site activities of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role prefers a background in government contracting.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the on-site construction team, including subcontractors, laborers, and tradespeople.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work performed meets or exceeds quality standards and adheres to contractual requirements.
- Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all personnel on site.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction, making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, inspection reports, and change orders.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including specific requirements for government contracts.
