Northwood Club is a rapidly growing with increased membership. The Club was established in 1946. We are a premier country club located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We are in the process of re-opening our newly renovated championship golf course in April. The club has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.
Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Reports to: Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and/or other Directors.
Classification: Hourly and Non Exempt
General Purpose: Provides daily maintenance and landscape services for all aspects of the grounds and other areas as required. Main job function will be mowing, blowing of leaves, raking bunkers, using a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools for general landscaping.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for the safe operation of any equipment used.
- Responsible for mowing greens, tees, fairways and roughs.
- Work closely with other golf course maintenance employee's performing job assignments.
- Perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance, club grounds and construction. Raking, mowing, trimming of hedges, mulch, planting, watering, fertilizing, irrigation, dig holes, clearing debris such as fallen limbs and branches.
- Raking and edging sand bunkers.
- Ensure safe working environment at the maintenance facility, golf course property and with equipment.
- Must be able to perform job activities in all phases of golf course and ground maintenance for the club property.
- Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent implementing, and completing all duties, assignments and projects.
Education/Experience: High school education; or up to two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: May be required: to read a limited number or two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one and two step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, sits, talks or hears. Regularly lifts or carries up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Environment/Noise: Works in outdoor conditions and with loud mechanical machinery. Will be required to work in outdoor weather conditions, heat and extreme cold. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be at least age 18.
