Job description:As the Global STC Quality Director, you will have the opportunity to expand your professional skills within a growing, global S&P 500 company. You will manage AMETEK’s QMS, Quality Assurance Program and inspection team. You will be responsible for the quality team across all STC sites, as well as ensuring the quality control procedures are coordinated throughout the Business Unit. Additionally, you will oversee the establishment of testing and inspection policies and procedures for maintaining a program that will meet the quality needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise quality personnel at all STC sites and manage the QA staff in Horsham. Includes defining job descriptions, interviewing candidates, hiring, annual performance assessments, etc.
- Manage the implementation of a standardized Quality Management System across all STC sites.
- Oversee and approve quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical methods for proposed or existing products, intermediate assemblies, and vendor-supplied material.
- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental, ISO 9000, ISO 13485, and ISO 17025 requirements.
- Assure that Internal quality audits are conducted and corrective actions resolved in a timely manner.
- Participate with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering in the establishment of Quality specifications and standards for raw materials, process, and finished products.
- Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product reliability and quality improvements.
- Review and prepare analyses of all customers returns and product quality reports; ensure that problems are identified, and proper corrective action is implemented. Coordinate the corrective actions with production management, the plant management.
- Supervise the daily operation of the quality control function, direct the assignment of personnel, ensure a safe and efficient operation, which contributes to the accomplishment of plant goals and objectives.
- Administer the calibration program ensuring timely calibration of all measuring and test equipment requiring calibration.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to disposition non-conforming material and initiate corrective actions as required.
- Participate in the development of operating budgets, cost estimates and forecast expenses.
- Evaluate material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field
- 3+ years manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Quality Manager in Manufacturing Environment
- Proven skill set to manage in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and ability to make timely decisions in step with the business strategic plans
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Developed organizational and follow-through skills
- Knowledge of Instrument industry or related products
- Demonstrated quality leadership skills
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Six Sigma experience desirable
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
