The Opportunity
The Global Benefits Director will have the opportunity to:
+ Lead the strategic design, development and delivery of all global benefits programs. This includes our retirement plans, executive incentives, health and welfare programs and wellness program designed to reduce risk to the organization.
+ Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
+ Provide strategic evaluation of our multiple plans, administrators, consultants and systems and create recommendations to lead the organization to one unified global benefit offering, process and platform
+ Lead a team to oversee daily administration of the employee benefits plans, the wellness program, and the annual insurance renewal processes of all global offerings
+ Partner with human resources and business leaders to ensure that programs meet the company's stated objectives with respect to cost, market competitive position and service levels
+ Report directly to the VP, Global Total Rewards and have both local and remote leadership responsibility for three direct reports and three indirect reports
This is a hybrid position, and will require 3 days onsite at a BV office location closest to you.
The Team
Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop overall long-term global benefits strategy
+ Direct the design, implementation, and administration of global offerings of employee retirement savings plans and health and welfare benefit programs including health, disability and life insurance as well as wellness and voluntary benefits plans
+ Review and rationalize global benefits programs to meet local country market competitive needs in accordance with the Company's total rewards philosophy and local business need
+ Lead negotiation of agreements with insurance carriers and financial institutions for optimized administration of benefits programs in partnership with our consulting partners
+ Prepare and analyze cost and utilization reports to evaluate the effectiveness of plans and recommend alternatives as needed
+ Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, DOL, IRS and other relevant regulatory requirements, required plan audits and tax filings. Serve as HIPAA Privacy Officer
+ Maintain current knowledge of political, regulatory and market trends to enable effective and proactive response to changes impacting benefits design and cost and to comply with all applicable country, state or local laws through administrative procedures and audits.
+ Vendor management of third-party administrators, consultants and various benefit plan providers
+ Design communication and educational plans to educate participants and facilitate maximum utilization and satisfaction with program offerings by collaborating with Employee Relations, Communications team and HR Shared Services teams for effective and timely communications to plan participants
+ Evaluate current service levels provided to plan participants and propose solutions to maximize delivery of excellent service including timely and effective responses to retiree and active participant benefits questions, problem resolution with respect to plan providers and or benefit coverage level disputes, appeals and participant educational initiatives
+ Analyze and evaluate options available through insurance and investment companies to identify and select vendors and programs which best meet the Company's objectives and the needs of plan participants
+ Support CPO and Chair of Administrative Committee for Employee Benefits with oversight of quarterly retirement plan investment review, plan expenses and governance in their role as fiduciaries of the plans
+ Responsible for presentation to Committee for approval of new benefit plan offerings, renewals, and plan amendments
+ Present to company leadership (CEO, CFO and CPO) and Administrative Committee for Employee Benefits the annual health and welfare plan budget, and recommended benefit enhancements to support employees and the company strategy
+ Work closely with Finance team on the administration of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and Global Employee Ownership plan (GEO)
+ Coach and mentor staff
+ As a necessary aspect of this role and the management, personnel or pay administration functions, this position has access to confidential personnel records and pay information not otherwise available. This position is responsible for protecting and maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of all employee information in regard to personal information, global benefit elections and retirement plan holdings.
Management Responsibilities
Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related area
+ Strong experience and knowledge (minimum of 10 + years) of benefits program design and delivery
+ International benefits design and administration experience
+ All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
