About:
MTH is seeking a skilled and detailed oriented Field Glass Surveyor to join our company. The glass surveyor will be responsible for on-site surveys, taking precise and accurate measurements, preparing accurate project specifications for glass installation projects and repair work. This role ensures that all glass projects meet technical requirements and client expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Visit all job sites as directed to assess conditions and obtain precise and accurate measurements for glass installation projects and repairs.
- Identify challenges and provide solutions to ensure accurate fit and finish of glass products.
- Must be able to identify all access equipment needed for project scope of work.
- Create detailed project specifications for the glass estimating teams and report back to the office.
- Must be able to calculate manpower based on union glazing rack schedule and determine accurately the amount of hours required to complete glazing projects/repairs.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, property managers, residential customers, chief engineers, structural engineers, and project managers to confirm project requirements.
- Determine glass makeups / finishes. Have a deep understanding and knowledge of the various glass products in the glazing industry.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Maintain clear and organized records of all site visits and measurements.
- Produce accurate technical drawings using surveying tools when applicable.
- Liaison with the estimating and production teams to ensure accurate fabrication and installation of glass.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Glass Surveyor or glazing technician (5 years).
- Strong knowledge of glass products, glazing techniques, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in using surveying tools and measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, and construction documents.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to details and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial or residential glazing projects.
