Position Summary
The GIS Acquisition Planner is responsible for planning the day to day acquisition plans and reports for all the field operators at USHR. This position is also responsible for tracking and reporting the miles driven by the operators daily.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing postgres databases, QGIS plugins, and large datasets to create acquisition plans for field operators
- Supports other departments including Field QC department, and CM Department to forecast collection priorities and completed collection
- Perform basic postgres queries to analyze collection priorities and report collection
- Learning new tools and procedures including but not limited to participating in weekly meetings
- Verifies discrepancies in collection uploads by the field daily
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline)
- 2+ years of experience designing and implementing data visualization and spatial analysis in a desktop GIS and data analyst role using ArcGIS or QGIS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and focus on quality
- Experience working with a team to problem solve and achieve goals under pressure and tight timelines
- Ability to be flexible and respond to changes while working in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends when required
Work Environment
- Works in a fast paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands; potential set-backs in project completion due to internal or external issues, resourcing and re-allocation.
- Regular office hours with some requirements for additional work during busy times.
- May work for long periods reviewing data on computer.
