Geotechnical Lead Driller - TSi Geotechnical Inc.

TSi Geotechnical, Inc. is a specialized practice in geotechnical engineering, drilling and sampling, materials testing, and construction observation and documentation. We have extensive experience in a variety of projects in building design and renovation, as well as roads, bridges, water, wastewater and storm water with offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Bloomington-Normal, IL.

A Lead Driller is a physically demanding position and the ideal candidate must have the ability to routinely lift 75 lbs., enjoy working outdoors, and possess a satisfactory driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

• Performing drilling services and well installations by operating drilling equipment to bore exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil and rock type and strength characteristics.
• Performs manual labor by assembling and disassembling equipment.
• Cleans and maintains trucks and drill rigs.
• Gets equipment together for that day's projects.
• Follows safety procedures.
• May operate misc. equipment such as pneumatic jackhammers for breaking of concrete and operation of water/steam pressure washers to wash the drilling equipment, rods, augers, bits, casings, trucks, and trailers.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Manage 1-2 Driller's Assistants

Position Requirements

• High school diploma/GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's driver license (CLASS A CDL preferred) and have the willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment and perform manual labor as described in job description.
• Must have reliable transportation and be available for overtime and weekend work as needed.
• Must be able to work outdoors in extreme conditions.
• Ability to read drawings for boring layouts.
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on detail, and follow work rules.
• Must possess Safety Training/Certification as required by clients to work in their facilities and as required by TSi Geotechnical, Inc. at all locations.
