About the Job
The Geospatial Project Manager will play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing geospatial projects that align with NV5 Geospatial's goals in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional stakeholders. You will serve as the primary client facing point of contact for all project execution and operations related activities contributing to the overall client experience.
High-level Responsibilities:
Develop: Develop and manage a project schedule and work plan for geospatial projects. Maximize team effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams and delegating tasks and timelines best suited to complete them.
Support and Guide: Provide input, guidance, and advice to identify and resolve project issues in real-time as well as identify and mitigate project risk ahead of time to carry projects into timely completion.
Track: Schedule and conduct project checkpoint evaluations and cross-functional team reviews at strategic points in the project lifecycle to assess project status, risk, and quality.
Work Environment:
- Location is flexible: NV5 Geospatial Headquarters, Regional offices, or work from home considered
- Travel up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities:
Project Initiation:
- Develop a project charter, identify stakeholders, and secure approvals.
Project Planning:
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a project management plan.
- Estimate costs and determine the budget in coordination with the Sales team.
- Plan, define, and develop schedules, activities, estimating resources and activity durations.
- Identify quality requirements and ensure compliance.
- Delegate tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them.
- Identify potential risks, perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and plan risk mitigation strategies.
- Plan for and identify required procurements.
Project Execution:
- Direct and manage all project tasks according to the timelines identified in the project plan.
- Ensure quality control is performed on the project throughout development to adhere with the expected standards and goals.
- Delegate project tasks based on the project team members' individual domain expertise, strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
- Serve as the first point of contact for project team members and customers.
- Leads overall communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Acts as internal liaison for sales team/Account Executives.
Monitoring and Controlling:
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Create and present status reports to stakeholders.
- Manage changes to the project when necessary.
- Validate and control the project scope, costs, quality, procurement, and communications.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Act as Customer Liaison and foster customer relationship.
- Manage Forecasting/Billing.
Business Development Support:
- Participate in the development of new relationships and new opportunities as needed to include proposal development, Level of Effort (LOE) development, presentation development, and other duties as needed.

Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Business, GIS, Engineering or related *
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent and a demonstrated ability in Geospatial Project Management using Agile Methodology
- Demonstrated capability implementing project plans and using tools to develop project schedules, work breakdown structures, and milestone driven Gantt charts
- Proficient in MS Office 365 suite
- You understand what the project manager role entails and how to be successful in it
- You have a strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices

Preferred (in addition to requirements):
- Knowledge or experience in geospatial or related industry
- PMP Certification
