DSA is seeking a highly qualified Geospatial Database Specialist with an active TS/SCI with CI Poly to join our team in Aurora, CO at Buckley SFB.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- DOD 8140 (8570) IAM or IAT Level II Certification
- At least 4 years of relevant database administration experience.
- Experience performing data analysis, database design, development activities, and implementation for databases and database conversions.
- Experience managing the compliance to all required database administration procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL
- Experience with developing database schemas and writing advanced SQL queries on database technologies.
- Knowledge of relational database development to support centralized data repositories.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) database services
- Experience with Atlassian Suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate independently, or collaboratively across multiple functional areas.
- Familiarity with ESRI Database tools and technologies
- Experience with Atlassian Suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience in working with cloud technologies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- AWS Certified Database Specialty or other AWS certification
- Experience with ICITE or DCGS-A Cloud concepts and architectures
- Knowledge of Agile software development project methodologies
Key Responsibilities
The Database Administration Specialist will play a critical role in the modernization of Army programs performing Army and national security missions. The database specialist will be responsible for the architecture, management, maintenance, backup/recovery, security, day-to-day support of enterprise databases and related application servers as well as installation and upgrade support as needed. The database specialist will monitor, log and resolve database performance issues, response times for reports and transactions, unusual entries in the alert logs and trace files, failures, and free space. The specialist will Deploy critical patch updates and security patches within the Government-approved deployment and mitigation schedules to maintain a hardened and secure infrastructures.
