General Description
The Osage Nation is seeking a licensed Geologist to provide geological services for managing geological duties related to the Orphaned Well Plugging Program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviewing existing and historical reservoir, production, well, and other information to determine best methods for plugging orphaned wells.
- Provide digital and hardcopy of current and historical well productions logs, seismic maps, geologic, and geophysical data.
- Maintains the Orphan Well List
- This position will work to identify areas with potential unidentified orphaned wells.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementing and managing geological projects for the Orphaned Well Plugging Program;
- Responsible for the monitoring, reviewing, interpreting, and administering federal and Tribal regulations and policies as they pertain to environmental or natural resource matters;
- Conduct research of existing environmental or natural resource data; perform federal, state, and local agency visits to research data and conducts Internet research to support project;
- Conduct field monitoring projects including the collection of physical science or life science samples for testing and analysis;
- Conduct field investigations using state-of-the-art technology including GPS and media-specific instruments;
- Design and maintain digital databases of well data; and
- Analyze environmental and natural resource data
- Prepare written studies and reports and maintain records.
