Gennaro Gardens Caseworker - Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton

Description/Job Summary

Provide supportive services to residents residing at Gennaro Gardens.  Gennaro Gardens is a midrise facility that houses low income residents 62 years old and older.

This is an 8 hour a week position.

Individual will report to Program Supervisor and work with Gennaro Garden's Management

Responsibilities/Duties

• Utilize active listening techniques with residents
• Conduct benchmark assessments of each tenant's need and develop a service plan for each tenant.
• Make contact and establish relationships with agencies in the County to either provide services or supplement any services to tenants.
• Assist with coordination of transportation services for Tenants
• Encourage tenants to seek further outside assistance, such as medical or legal advice if deemed to be in the best interest of the Tenants.
• Translate documents on the tenants behalf

Required Qualifications

Individual will possess a high school diploma or GED.

Bi-lingual preferred English/Spanish

individual must be of good moral character, dependable, reliable, and emotionally stable.

The individual must consent to a criminal record check of FBI, Child Abuse and State Police

The Diocese of Scranton requires all employees complete an intitial Virtues training Program, designed to empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.

Employees must also complete all other trainings, programs, out services, in-services, conferences, seminars, conventions, etc..., as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
