Position Purpose: Responsible for receiving returned merchandise from deliveries. Also “checks-in” the merchandise from the delivery companies.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Accurately” Checks-in” merchandise using hard copy manifests and computer system.
- Accurately Researches merchandise in computer and completes paperwork and/or system transaction for furniture disposition.
- Inspects merchandise visually for damage and ensures that claim information is properly captured.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly work area and D.C.
- Attendance in compliance with our Absence/Tardy policy is an essential responsibility of this position.
- Wraps merchandise for putaway.
- Directs delivery drivers during offload of product from truck.
- Assists in ensuring inventory integrity of department.
- Must be familiar with D.C. procedures.
- Must be able to perform simple arithmetic, read orders and ensure merchandise matches rest of order.
- Must have good communications skills (verbal and reading comprehension in English)
- Must be able to use an RF hand – scanner, PC and other computerized equipment.
- Must be able to exercise caution and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, lift and carry (i.e., merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. about 20% of the time).
- Must have hand/eye coordination and must be accurate.
