General Laboratory Supervisor Medical Technologist Job Description
MUST BE FLORIDA LICENCED IN CLINICAL CHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY.
We are conveniently located off I-95, 15 mins from downtown St Augustine and 20 mins from downtown Jacksonville.
The Lab Supervisor Medical Technologist is responsible for the supervision, direction, and coordination of our clinical diagnostic lab. This position requires patience, empathy, time management, and professionalism with superiors, peers, subordinates, and providers.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform PCR and ELISA runs, analyze data, and prepare technical reports according to standard operating procedures
- Assist with laboratory test validation studies
- Supervise all laboratory staff
- Conduct competency assessments for all laboratory staff
- Direct supervision of all logistical processes and functions
- Assist in the establishment and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems
- Ensure that the Quality Assurance program documents and reports are up to date and reviewed by the Lab Director
- Track and manage sample volume and inventory in relation to available capacity
- Work with clients and laboratory staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Meet and exceed quality goals
- Meet and exceed efficiency metrics
- Direct the implementation and management of new policies and procedures
- Participate in routine laboratory tasks
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related field required.
- >2 years of experience with high complexity chemistry and molecular assays in a CLIA laboratory.
- >1 year of Supervisory experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

- Knowledge of CLIA/COLA/CAP regulations
- Ability to manage change
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time without resting
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
