As the General Manager at Caleres, you will lead the organization toward achieving its goals through strategic planning, effective execution, team leadership, and fostering positive relationships. This role also focuses on building the brand, emphasizing consumer-centric approaches, collaborating with product design and marketing to drive commercial outcomes, building brand equity, and leading the merchandising team to maximize market share and profitability.
What You’ll Be Doing:Setting Strategy:
- Craft and articulate an inspiring vision for the organization, aligning with the broader enterprise objectives.
- Analyze data from diverse sources to support decisions and align the organization with the overall strategy.
- Foster an entrepreneurial and creative approach to generate innovative ideas to drive results.

Building Brand Equity and Commercial Outcomes:
- Develop and implement strategies to build brand equity and consumer engagement to build brand and shareholder value.
- Partner with product design to drive brand initiatives with commercial outcomes.
- Ensure that marketing and brand strategies align with division financial targets and overall brand message.
- Lead the merchandising team and strategy to maximize market share and profitability.
- Drive wholesale and DTC strategic plans through effective collaboration with partners in a matrix organization structure.
Sales and Brand Management:
- Provide focus and direction to the sales force, establishing annual goals and managing ongoing performance.
- Manage sell-through and sell-in and establish quotas/goals.
- Identify and oversee key retailers, opportunities, and new accounts, developing growth plans and strategies.
- Travel to key growth accounts, staying updated on competitive issues and opportunities.
- Collaborate with product development and design to meet the needs and commercial goals of partner retailers
- Monitor sales, receipts, inventory, and markdowns for accuracy, driving net sales and profitability.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the fashion footwear industry.
- Strong strategic thinking, execution, team leadership, and relationship-building skills.
