We are currently looking for a General Manager to drive the business development strategy for our Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) business in China. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive industry knowledge, with a preference for expertise in coins. However, experience in collectibles or the finance sector is also valuable to bring depth and valuable insights to our team. The General Manager will implement overall strategies for sales and operations through the strategic planning process, ensuring the global entity meets or exceeds short-term and long-term objectives and key results.
This role reports to the PCGS President and will be based out of our Shanghai, China office.
What You'll Do:
- Take ownership for representing some of our most strategic relationships
- Establish new/cultivate existing relationships with customers throughout the Asia market
- Oversee an existing team of high-performing and experienced leaders
- Participate in product road map build-out discussions based on client or industry needs
- Lead and execute strategy into new or nascent verticals in China
- Manage sales and customer care teams locally
- Work closely with product, marketing, finance, and operations teams (both locally and abroad) to constantly optimize efforts relating to company-wide goals
- Enhance brand image in China and Asian markets
- Responsible for the annual budget for China program development, business operations, hiring and training staff, managing vendors, and marketing
- Optimize processes and policies to ensure operations run smoothly under new leadership.
- Deliver reports & analytics to management for reviews and forecasts
- Lead by example and be a champion of all company policies and Chinese laws and regulations, including safety, attendance, security, and ethical internal business practices
Who You Are:
- 10+ years of experience in business operations, business development, sales, general management, and/or strategy, preferably with a collectibles or luxury brand.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience managing sales and customer service teams.
- Proven track record in increasing sales, clientele, and revenue for business growth & development.
- Experience working as part of a global organization, with experience connecting Chinese and western working culture.
- P&L management experience, as well as strong financial understanding and analytical skills
- Ability to focus on delivering against ambitious yet attainable goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to network with and win trust/respect from leaders within the collectibles and auction industry.
- Relevant working experience in China and willingness to live in or relocate to China.
- Business level proficiency in both Mandarin and English.
- Demonstrated growth in business development and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and hold them accountable.
- Numismatic experience or interest is a plus.
