Job DescriptionAt DCS, we provide transportation infrastructure maintenance services across multiple states for Railroads and State and County highway agencies. Much of our work is seasonal and most of our crews work off-site serving our customers needs across a nine (9) state region. All our field crews are supported out of our Regional office in OKC and branch offices in LA & TX. Successful candidates will have experience managing a multi-state operation and bring experience in a services industry.
BASIC PURPOSE: Safely executes operational strategies and objectives across a region or multiple regions. Understands each business line service and manages improvement of operational efficiency. Exceeds the service delivery of overall customer satisfaction based on established indicators. Ensures that all businesses are following Company standard operating and human resource processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops and improves operational efficiencies either directly or indirectly through subordinate;
Reviews analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine operational progress toward stated goals and objectives;
Drives profitability;
Collaborate with key functional support teams Safety, Human Resources, Finance.
Actively works to gain the respect of subordinates through daily interaction with subordinates, promoting teamwork, harmony and productivity;
Understand each business contract and how to ensure work is done as provided for in the contract language, thereby eliminating penalties;
Develops and maintains a staffing plan, including planning for turnover and increasing operational efficiencies through the development of technical skills and abilities of all employees;
Ensures all managers create training plans for all technicians to increase knowledge in existing role as well as increased skill levels of in other needed areas;
Drive a relentless focus on personal ownership of the safety performance across the region. Ensures a safe and healthy work environment is maintained at all times and all personnel are trained in operational safety policies, procedures and requirements;
Enforces company safety policies and ensures safety equipment is provided as needed to employees so they may safely perform the duties of their jobs without injury to themselves or others;
Conducts performance appraisals per company policy, and provides feedback to subordinates as needed to ensure optimum performance of each employee;
Upholds and models DCS’ Values and Code of Conduct.
Responsible for the management and safe operations of the assigned contracts;
Ensure customer satisfaction is a key outcome across the region. Establish and maintain positive customer relationships;
Responsible for the P&L in the region(s).
Develop and periodically revise a multi-year work plan for the maintenance and operations of all projects under the specifications under the contract;
Responsible for selection, management and utilization of sub-contractors;
Ensure all staff are abiding by all federal, state and local laws within the scope of their contracts;
Drive innovations within projects assigned within the region.
Work with SVP/ Sales teams to ensure project renewals are captured.
Work closely with corporate staff departments closely to both comply with corporate policies and optimize local performance while utilizing that support effectively;
Ensure high levels of contractual compliance for all projects in the region.
Help fuel and lead growth in the region
Build and Manager Budgets and Overheads to the Goal of DCS expectations

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred
Advanced degree preferred
10 plus years’ experience in a service-based environment
Experience in driving profitable financial results
Experience with forecasting and budget preparation
Experience in driving safety initiatives
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, writing and presentation skills
Excel at operating in a fast-paced environment
Strong multi-tasking skills
Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel
High sense of urgency
Management experience required
Highway maintenance experience is preferred
