General Summary:
The General Manager provides strategic direction for their restaurant. This General Manager must maintain operations and drive results at his/her restaurant, through people development & sales and profit growth. The General Manager must hire, train and develop Crewmembers and Assistant Managers that share Taco John's values and culture. The Manager must convey the Taco John's culture to his/her crew and be a team player who likes to work hard, have fun, and show sincere dedication to his/her restaurant's success. The General Manager must ensure that the restaurant strives to deliver hot & fresh food in a fast & friendly way in a clean & safe environment.
General Manager's Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completes and posts the weekly or monthly work schedules for all personnel. Responsiblefor scheduling employees and assigning job positions to assure that all positions necessaryto the restaurant's operation are filled.
- Observes all personnel at the beginning of work shift for compliance with appearance anduniform standards.
- Supervises back-of-house and service operations while on duty. Assists counter/diningroom/drive-thru team and food production team during rush periods to ensure themaintenance of quality, service and cleanliness standards.
- Assists counter/dining room/drive-thru team in greeting customers, taking orders, suggestiveselling, ringing food and beverage purchases into cash register, collecting payment fromcustomers and making change, assembling order and checking for completeness andcorrectness and packaging orders for dining room or takeout dining.
- Participates in food preparation, cooking, menu assembly, and checking for completenessand correctness.
- Accurate and timely reporting of required daily, weekly and period projects, andadministrative responsibilities.
- Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and develops a high quality team.
- Spends time individually on all shifts of restaurant operation to ensure the training,development and accountability of all subordinate supervisors.
- Creates a management schedule based on the business needs of the restaurant. Ensuresfair and consistent rotation of shifts for management team.
- Assists in maximizing sales potential through local store marketing.
- Ensures good safety practices of employees and customers throughout the restaurant.Assists in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures.
- Receives and resolves customer complaints to maintain customer satisfaction and providescorrections when applicable.
- Delegates and is responsible for the ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of all food, labor,equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies for the restaurant to ensure a minimumloss from waste or theft.
- Ensures that restaurant operations deliver all facets of our "promise" to the customers.
Requirements:
- 3 years of leadership experience required
- 2 year of restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to lead up to 20 team members
- Willing to work an average of 40 hours per week including some Saturdays and Sundays
