SSA Group at Honolulu Zoo is looking for a talented General Manager to join our team!

Position Title: General Manager
Reports to: Area General Manager and Regional Vice President
Responsibilities:
- Coach, supervise, direct all department managers to meet operational needs daily.
- Schedule management personnel as necessary.
- Assist management in developing training standards for alcohol service, customer service, safety, and harassment.
- Host meetings for the management team and conduct training sessions as needed.
- Work with Executive Chef and Retail Operations Manager to track and budget inventory.
- Act as the main liaison between the Client and SSA.
- Maintain a close relationship with the client’s staff to ensure a positive working relationship.
- Responsible for collaboration with marketing to enhance guest experience and operational output.
- Attend Client meetings and report to the Regional Manager(s).
- Manage in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Uphold and demonstrate understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Accountable for financial management through budgeting, forecasting, and management of sales.
- Ensure all fiscal deadlines are met.
- Manage invoices processed through accounts in a timely manner.
- Provide reports to the Regional Manager for cash reconciliation and payroll percentages.
- Forecast weekly sales and maintain monthly sales analysis.
- Manage payroll within established guidelines.
- Set precedent to achieve sales and controllable budget.
- Minimize controllable costs and strategize on revenue avenues.
- Perform steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience.
- Responsible for daily functions of all applicable departments.
- Maintain knowledge of contract between SSA and Client.
- Support progressive discipline documentation.
- Keep operating manuals up to date.
- Review and approve plans for major special events.
- Manage design and implementation of all menus and pricing.
- Assume an active role in long-range planning.
- Manage all capital projects to client and SSA expectations.
- Ensure employee integration and exit are managed appropriately.
- Promote an inclusive & supportive approach.
- Assure editorial role on all unit publications.
- Ensure unit strives to be an example for Sustainability/Conservation efforts.
- Support community efforts through hiring and engagement activities.
- Perform other tasks as deemed necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills with an understanding of team building.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates financial management and planning skills.
- Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer knowledge for office functions.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle boxes (35lbs).
- Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Previous Experience:
- Five years operations management. Two years management experience in cultural, iconic, amusement, or museum attraction a plus.
- ServSafe Certified a plus.
- All education backgrounds accepted; must be 18 or older.
