Barkaritaville Pet Resort of Corpus Christi, TX is actively seeking a Full-time General Manager to manage all aspects of operations for our million-dollar pet care business. The salary for this position is $50,000-$65,000 plus incentive bonuses. ABOUT BARKARITAVILLE PET RESORT
We are a full-service, state-of-the-art, pet care facility in Corpus Christi, TX which was created and designed to provide a home-like, and fun environment for pets. We offer lodging, grooming, daycare, and training. We are locally owned and managed with 25+ years of experience in the pet industry. Whether for a day or a whole vacation, each pet's stay is tailored to their needs and preferences.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A GENERAL MANAGER
As the General Manager, you are the captain of our ship! You lead us towards our primary destination of maximum client satisfaction for both our four-legged guests and their human families. You do this while ensuring that we meet our profit goals so that we have the resources needed to continue on our voyage. You provide direct leadership to our entire management team and indirect leadership to all of our staff. Your analytical mind keeps you reevaluating our progress and charting a new course whenever necessary.
You help keep us afloat financially by properly handling the financial aspects of our business. You are accountable for keeping accurate financial records related to payroll, cash and receipts, productivity, supply costs, security of our funds, and operating expenses. You analyze our resources and needs carefully, planning staffing and compensation levels accordingly.
You do an excellent job conducting our hiring, scheduling, and training programs according to company standards and in line with legal regulations. You provide excellent training and development opportunities for all of our employees, including department managers. You oversee and coach our managers' handling of employee relations, ensuring a cohesive work culture where all of our staff feels valued and personally invested in our mission.
You are not one to wait until you are in the midst of a storm to act. You ensure the best possible care for our clients and outcome for our business by always looking ahead, making decisions, and taking action. You anticipate, identify, and correct any system or process breakdowns in order to ensure as smooth sailing as possible. You don't play around with the health and safety of our crew and guests!
You ensure our facility is kept in tip-top condition through preventive maintenance, energy conservation, prompt repairs, effective security measures, and strict adherence to safety and sanitation requirements. You are a hands-on leader. You never hesitate to jump right in and perform any job when the need arises. You will do whatever it takes to facilitate our continued success. It takes a lot for our human clients to trust us with their beloved pets. But thanks to your excellent leadership, they can and they do!
GENERAL MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of leadership experience in the pet care, hospitality, restaurant, or another related industry with a strong service component
- Business degree (or 5+ years' experience at the General Manager level which included the management of revenue)
- Excellent work references with a history of career progression
- Strong budget, forecasting, and cost control skills
- Understanding of how day-to-day operations affect profit and loss
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to lift 40+lbs and stand for extended periods of time
- Must live within 7 miles of our Corpus Christi location

WORK SCHEDULE
The General Manager's typical schedule is 8am-5pm, or based on operational needs, M-F, with holidays and every other Saturday with the ability to be on-call.
