The General Maintenance Tech II performs work of a fairly routine nature in assisting with insuring daily preventive maintenance, upkeep, and repair of The Blood Center's property and equipment including satellite facilities. Reports directly to the Coordinator Building and Fleet Maintenance.

In this role, youll:
- Routinely apply professional high-level skills in the diagnosing and repair of commercial structural buildings and facilities.
- Lead or respond to scheduled/unscheduled maintenance requests.
- Perform structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, sheetrock and furnishings.
- Lead and perform complex to minor, non-technical electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Organizes spares, tools and equipment to carry out maintenance activities.
- Have detailed understanding and practical experience of facility control requirements.
- Plan and perform work process analyses and diagnostics.
- Develop efficiency solutions by troubleshooting solutions, when needed.
- Direct work activities of maintenance technicians, when needed.
- Develops strategies for reducing labor and material costs.
- Plan and determine project labor hours and maintain required documentation.
We need someone who has:
- High school Diploma or GED; and three years of experience in building maintenance to include electrical/mechanical background, a basic knowledge of painting, sheetrock, and minor carpentry skills.
- Valid Texas Driver's License (TDL) plus acceptable driving record.
- Must meet standards of The Blood Centers Vehicle Safety Program
